Shot in 1974 by Bob Gruen John’s personal photographer and close friend. Gruen asked John to wear the New York City shirt he had just bought on the sidewalk for $5, "John had been in the city awhile,” Gruen told NY mag, “He was becoming a New Yorker.” The Beatle & Gruen would remain friends until John's untimely death in 1980.
