The year he was captured in this Ms. Nude America '82 Pageant Official Judge, Joe Cocker was undergoing something of a career renaissance. He'd signed to Chris Blackwell's Island Records and journeyed to Jamaica to lay down tracks (backed up by the peerless rhythm section of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare, among other great players) for what would become his Sheffield Steel album. That same year, Joe Cocker received a Grammy nomination for "I'm So Glad I'm Standing Here Today," a track he recorded with jazz artists The Crusaders and recorded the #1 duet "Up Where We Belong" with Jennifer Warnes for the soundtrack of An Officer and a Gentleman.
