Joey Ramone - Black Oak Arkansas Tee
This variant is currently sold out
Black Oak Arkansas, originally named "The Knowbody Else," was formed in 1963 by some "high school pals" living in the area around Black Oak, Arkansas. One of the bands highlights was playing then famous California Jam festival in Ontario, California in 1974. The massive concert attracted over 200,000 fans, and BOA appeared alongside 1970s rock giants Black Sabbath, the Eagles, Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Deep Purple, Earth, Wind & Fire, Seals and Crofts and Rare Earth.
Here Joey is seen wearing a Black Oaks Arkansas tee.
The Ramones’ short, combustible songs were a departure from the sweeping, glam, prog- rock that defined the early 1970s. Their garage rock world was populated by comic books, horror films, and girl groups of the ‘60s.
The Ramones helped downsize rock from arenas and stadiums, bringing it back to its origins—the clubs and neighborhood dives. The Ramones brought a fresh intensity to rock; they are considered the “godfathers of punk.”
