The Story

A major influence on the New Wave and punk movements in America

Chris Stein is probably best known as the guitarist for Blondie, an American band that Stein founded with Deborah Harry. The group got together in 1974 and was a major influence on the New Wave and punk movements in America. Despite their success overseas, Blondie remained an underground act in the States until 1978, with the release of Parallel Lines. After several years apart, the band got back together and remains active today.
