Frank Zappa T-Shirt - Stony Brook Tee worn by Frank Zappa

Frank Zappa T-Shirt, vintage tee worn by Frank Zappa.

Frank Zappa was an American musician, record and film producer, songwriter and composer. In his career spanning more than 30 years, Zappa composed rock, jazz and orchestral works.  He began writing classical music in high school and at the same time played drums in rhythm and blues bands; later changing to electric guitar.

Frank Zappa is seen here wearing the Stony Brook Concerts shirt in 1979.

Stony Brook University in New York played host during the 60’s and seventies to the most phenomenal line up of acts in rock and roll. Their past concerts artists reads like a who’s who of music genius or a “who to listen to if you want to be cool” check list, from Jimi Hendrix to Joni Mitchell, the Clash and the Ramones. Frank Zappa played here four times, selling out every time. As the greed of the eighties crept in, the venue was used less and less as bigger venues were needed to bring in bigger bucks. The University however is supported still by a great non-commercial, free form radio station WUSB.

This Worn Free Tee is custom made from super soft washed cotton. So comfy it will be an instant favorite in your T-Shirt rotation. Worn Free reproduces classic vintage style 'fully licensed' tees, in this case as worn by Frank Zappa.

Each tee comes with a special backstage pass style hang tag showing a picture of Frank wearing this Stony Brook Concerts tee design.
