David Gilmour
David Gilmour - Pink Floyd
Now regarded as one of the greatest guitarists of all time, Gilmour was just 21 when he was asked by Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason to step in for Syd Barrett, whose behavior was more and more erratic. Some nights Syd would still turn up and play alongside Dave, briefly making Pink Floyd a five piece band. After Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here, relationships between Dave and Roger Waters deteriorated into one of the most famous rock and roll riffs. Dave left to pursue a successful solo and producing career before returing to Pink Floyd.
