Drummer Willie Hall a prodege of Booker T. & the MGs drummer Al Jackson, Jr. Hall played with both the Bar-Kays and Isaac Hayes's band The Movement. In the seventies, Willie backed dozens of major Stax artists on recordings, including Hot Buttered Soul (1969) and Theme from Shaft (1971) albums.
Willie Hall joined Booker T. & the MGs after Jackson's murder, and later joined guitarist Steve Cropper and bass player Donald "Duck" Dunn as a member of The Blues Brothers Band, which led to his appearance in the hit movie The Blues Brothers (film). |
