Queen - Queen Wants You T-Shirt
Queen's 1980 tour kicked off in the U.S., and the band marked the new decade (and the live incarnation of new album The Game) with new iconography. Mercury's new look — short hair, mustache and leather-daddy attire — was an unprecedented mainstreaming of gay style, and even the large-breasted femme in Nazi-esque fetish wear on the tour's Queen Wants You t-shirt couldn't conceal this homoerotic thrust. Of course, not even the virulent homophobia of many rock fans could stand between Queen and astronomical ticket sales, although subsequent tour graphics, like the babe tied to the front of the truck on the '82 tee, may have been intended to counteract the singer's flaming zeal.
This Queen T-shirt from the tour emblazoned with Queen Crew Wants You is custom made from the softest, prewashed and shrunk cotton jersey for a lasting fit. Worn Free faithfully reproduces vintage rock t-shirts we track down from archive images, dusty attics and musicians. |
