The ‘RPS’ T-shirt featured a one off hand drawn logo for Record Plant Studios, created by Gary Kellgren one of the owners. Earlier that year Lennon recorded ‘Rock ‘N’ Roll’ at Record Plant in NY. A tribute cover album of the music he had grown up listening to.
The album was produced by Phil Spector, and it was at RPS that John Lennon met drummer Vinny Appice, who he asked to appear in BOMF, his backing band for the Hilton gig. Appice later played with Black Sabbath and Dio. |
