John Lennon - Bermuda T-Shirt |
| In July 1980, John Lennon sailed to Bermuda with a five member crew on his 63-foot yacht, Isis. Music seemed the farthest thing from his mind. He hadn't released an album in 5 years. But the trip turned into one of Lennon's most fruitful periods as a songwriter since the Beatles broke up. The inspiration came from an odd source. “"I was at a dance club one night in Bermuda. I heard “Rock Lobster” by the B-52s for the first time. I thought, ‘This sounds just like Yoko's music".’”A new creative urge was born. In the next 3 weeks, he wrote Starting Over, Woman,”Watching the Wheels, and more than 20 other songs. |
