Kurt Cobain was photographed wearing this comely image of cartoon spy Natasha Fatale (from "Rocky and Bullwinkle," one of the wittiest animated creations of the cold-war era) in 1994. Natasha and her partner-in-espionage, Boris Badenov, hailed from the extremely Soviet-like fictional nation of Pottsylvania. Like so many kids who grew up in the '70s, Kurt Cobain probably spent a few hours soaking up the satirical gibes of this classic 'toon — and may have appreciated its subversive undercurrents more than many of his peers did.
