Iggy Pop is one of the most important innovators of punk rock music. Iggy took his name from 'The Iguanas' a high school band he was in. In the late 60s early 70s, Iggy was the singer in the Stooges. The band became renowned for the outrageous stage performances. As front man for the band, Iggy was attributed as being one of the first performers to "stage dive".
